About The Artist

Lavon Rushing, originally from Newport News, VA is now an Orlando based musician, producer and photographer. He was raised in a musical family and found appreciation for music from a very early age.  He initially started with guitar by his talented father, however as his passion for music matured he was drawn to his current principle instrument.  Rushing believed that the bass is the rhythmic foundation of the band and acts as an anchor for the grooves that drew him to playing bass.

Lavon Rushing is a phenomenal local bass player, guitarist and band leader.  From gospel to hard funk to rock to jazz and progressive R&B, Rushing elevates everyone on the bandstand and delivers inspired solos along with groove after infectious groove.  Recently featured in Will Patrick’s Jimi Hendrix show, Lavon has become a Central Florida product that will have you toe-tapping and head bobbing your way through the night.

There’s no doubt you have heard his unique musical skills played on stages from Disney World, to LA, to Egypt, with artists such as Charlie Wilson, Jackiem Joyner, Ali Woodson of the Temptations, Hilary Duff, Kim Burrell, Yandell, and Mau Y Ricki.  Lavon’s most recent work, with some of the most influential artists including Abdul Majeed, Ayman Alatar, Ahlamal Shamsi, and Angham have gone to #1 and with over 1 million downloads.
